Privacy policy

This policy explains what information the 1st CANZUK Brigade website shows and keeps, and how to have it changed or removed. [The unit to review this policy before launch.]

Who runs this site

The site is run by the 1st CANZUK Brigade and hosted on the unit's own server. No outside service holds member data. Questions about privacy go to Brigade Command on Discord.

Member service records

Service records are public. For every member the site shows their name, rank, callsign, position, unit, enlistment date, time in service, operations attended, service history and honours.

The site does not show or keep members' email addresses, ages, Steam or Epic IDs, leave of absence details or disciplinary notes.

This information comes from the unit's own records and is updated every 30 minutes. To have your record changed or removed, ask J1 on Discord. Once the unit's records are updated, the site follows within half an hour.

Former members

When a member is discharged, their record is hidden from the public unless they or the unit choose to keep it shown. Recruits who leave are removed entirely.

Applications

When you apply to join, the site keeps what you enter on the form and your Discord username and ID. Only the recruiting team and Brigade Command can see it. Applications are deleted 30 days after a decision, or straight away if you ask.

Signing in

Applicants and staff sign in with Discord. The site receives your Discord username, ID and your roles in the brigade's server. It never sees your Discord password or email address.

Cookies

The site uses two kinds of cookie, both necessary for it to work:

• a sign-in cookie, only if you sign in, so the site knows who you are;
• a theme cookie that remembers whether you prefer the dark or light page.

There are no advertising or tracking cookies.

Analytics

[If enabled:] The site counts visits with Umami, which is hosted on the unit's own server, sets no cookies and does not identify individual visitors.
